New Managing Director for SEO Economic Research
We are proud to announce that, as of 1 April 2026, Daniël van Vuuren has been appointed Managing Director of SEO Economic Research. He succeeds Bas ter Weel, who has moved to the executive board of De Nederlandsche Bank.
Daniël is no stranger to our organisation or to the field. As current Scientific Director at SEO, Professor of Economics at Tilburg University and former Head of Sector at the CPB, he brings extensive experience at the intersection of research and public policy. He is known for his focus on results and his continuous drive for innovation. He is not only a sharp economist, but also a connector who translates academic insights into practical solutions for today’s and tomorrow’s societal challenges.
SEO Economic Research is an independent institute conducting economic research for governments, companies and civil‑society organisations. SEO focuses on addressing complex economic issues for a wide range of clients, including ministries, the European Commission, regulators and private organisations.
